Octagrabber Enamel Pin
$11.95
The Octagrabber is a highly important piece of equipment used in the recovery of the booster. Nestled securely onboard their autonomous droneships (ADS); Of course I still love you (OCISLY) and Just read the instructions (JRTI), it rolls out of its garage after the booster successfully lands on the deck. With its two tracks, it moves beneath the booster and then extends four arms that securely attach to the booster. With its excessive weight, it brings the center of gravity of the booster, plus Octagrabber, down to a much lower height, stopping it from potentially tipping over during its sea voyage back to port. It is also possible that electromagnets are used to apply further force to the deck of the drone ship, holding the booster steady.
When the booster returns to port, Octagrabber can hold up the entire booster while the legs are retracted prior to it being hoisted off the ship and then transported back for refurbishment.
Octagrabber is truly a key element to the reusability of the boosters!
